Do not abandon your children out of fear of poverty. We will provide for them and for you. Killing them is certainly a great wrong. 31 And approach not fornication; surely it is an indecency, and evil as a way. 32 And do not kill any one whom Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause, and whoever is slain unjustly, We have indeed given to his heir authority, so let him not exceed the just limits in slaying; surely he is aided. 33 Come not nigh to the orphan's property except to improve it, until he attains the age of full strength; and fulfil (every) engagement, for (every) engagement will be enquired into (on the Day of Reckoning). 34 Give full measure when you are measuring, and weigh on a balanced scale. This is better, and excellent its consequence. 35 Do not follow what you do not know; the ears, eyes, and hearts will all be held responsible for their deeds. 36 And walk not on earth with haughty self-conceit: for, verily, thou canst never rend the earth asunder, nor canst thou ever grow as tall as the mountains! 37 All that is evil in the sight of your Lord, and is detestable. 38 This is some of the wisdom your Lord has revealed to you. So do not take another god apart from God, or you will be cast into Hell, reproved, ostracised. 39 Then, has your Lord chosen you for [having] sons and taken from among the angels daughters? Indeed, you say a grave saying. 40
