In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta' Ha' 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 A revelation from Him (Allah) Who has created the earth and high heavens. 4 The Beneficent One, Who is established on the Throne. 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and all that is in between, and all that is beneath the soil. 6 And if thou speakest the word aloud, then verily He knoweth the secret and the most hidden. 7 Allah – there is no worship except for Him; His only are the best names. 8 And has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 9 When he saw a fire and said unto his folk: Lo! Wait! I see a fire afar off. Peradventure I may bring you a brand therefrom or may find guidance at the fire. 10 So when he came to it, a voice was uttered: O Musa: 11 Surely I am your Lord, therefore put off your shoes; surely you are in the sacred valley, Tuwa, 12 and I have chosen thee [to be My apostle]: listen, then, to what is being revealed [unto thee]. 13 I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. 14 "Verily the Hour is coming - My design is to keep it hidden - for every soul to receive its reward by the measure of its Endeavour. 15 "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. 16 What is that in your right band, O Moses?" 17 'Why, it is my staff,' said Moses. 'I lean upon it, and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep; other uses also I find in it. 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 So he cast it down, and thereupon it turned into a sliding serpent. 20 The Lord said, "Hold the serpent and do not be afraid; We will bring it back to its original form." 21 "Now place thy hand within thy armpit: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish, as another sign [of Our grace,] 22 That We may shew thee of Our Signs the greatest. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent.' 24
