T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to thee to be (an occasion) for thy distress, 2 Nay, it is a reminder to him who fears: 3 a revelation from Him who created the earth and the high heavens; 4 the All-compassionate sat Himself upon the Throne; to Him belongs 5 To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and whatever lies in between them, and all that lies under the ground. 6 Whether you speak aloud [or in a low voice], He hears all, for He knows your secrets and what is even more hidden. 7 God is the only Lord and to Him belong all the exalted Names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 Behold, he saw a fire: So he said to his family, "Tarry ye; I perceive a fire; perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 But when he came to the fire, a voice was heard: "O Moses! 11 Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals. Indeed, you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa. 12 I Myself have chosen you; therefore, give ear to what is revealed. 13 Lo! I, even I, am Allah, There is no Allah save Me. So serve Me and establish worship for My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming. But I choose to keep it hidden, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with his labours. 15 Let none bar thee from it, that believes not in it but follows after his own caprice, or thou wilt perish. 16 “And what is this in your right hand, O Moosa?” 17 He said, “This is my staff; I support myself on it, and I knock down leaves for my sheep with it, and there are other uses for me in it.” 18 Said He, 'Cast it down, Moses!' 19 So he threw it down, and all of a sudden, it turned into a fast-moving serpent. 20 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. 21 Now, put your hand under your armpit. It shall come out white, without evil, a second sign. 22 That We may go on showing you Our greater signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh, he has become insolent' 24
