T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We have not sent the Quran to make you, (Muhammad), miserable, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 A revelation from Him (Allah) Who has created the earth and high heavens. 4 the Merciful willed to the Throne. 5 Unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, as well as all that is between them and all that is beneath the sod. 6 If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden. 7 Allah! there is no god but He! To Him belong the most Beautiful Names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family, "Wait here. I can see a fire. Perhaps I can bring you a brand from it, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 So when he came near the fire, it was announced, “O Moosa!” 11 I am your Lord. Take off your shoes, for you are in Towa, the sacred valley. 12 I have chosen you. Therefore, listen to what shall be revealed. 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming; I would conceal it that every soul may be recompensed for its labours. 15 Let none bar thee from it, that believes not in it but follows after his own caprice, or thou wilt perish. 16 And what is this in your right hand, O Musa! 17 He said: it is my staff; I lean there on; and therewith beat down fodder for my sheep; and for me therein are other purposes. 18 (Allah) said, "Throw it, O Moses!" 19 So he threw it - and lo! it was a snake, moving rapidly. 20 [Allah] said, "Seize it and fear not; We will return it to its former condition. 21 And face what is to come with patience, your hand will not be tarnished with blame: Another sign 22 That We may show you of Our greater signs: 23 Go to Pharaoh, he has become insolent' 24
