(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 And ease my task for me; 26 “And untie the knot of my tongue.” 27 "So they may understand what I say: 28 And give me as assistant from my family 29 Aaron, my brother; 30 Strengthen by him my back. 31 and let him share my task, 32 So shall we glorify Thee, 33 And remember You much. 34 Indeed, You are of us ever Seeing." 35 Said He, 'Thou art granted, Moses, thy petition. 36 And assuredly We conferred a benefit on thee another time. 37 "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message: 38 Place him in a chest and throw it into the river, and thereupon the river will cast him ashore, [and] one who is an enemy unto Me and an enemy unto him will adopt him. "And [thus early] I spread Mine Own love over thee - and [this] in order that thou might be formed under Mine eye. 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance. 42 Go, both of you, unto Pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds). 43 Then speak to him a gentle word haply he may mind or fear. 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement shall light upon him who cries lies and turns his back." 48 Said Firaun, “So who is the Lord of you both, O Moosa?” 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 He then asked, "What do you know about the past generations?" 51 (Moses) replied: "Knowledge of that is with my Lord (recorded) in the Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is He who has made for you the earth as a cradle and threaded roads for you and sends down water from the sky with which We bring forth every kind of plant. 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
