Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
