[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] 25 and make my task easy for me. 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 so that they may understand my speech; 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 To strengthen me 31 And let him share my task 32 so that [together] we might abundantly extol Thy limitless glory 33 and remember You much: 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 He said: "Moses, your petition is granted. 36 And assuredly We conferred a benefit on thee another time. 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 "Cast him into the ark, and cast him into the river, and let the river throw him up on the shore. An enemy of Mine and his shall take him." And I loaded on thee love from Me, and to be formed in My sight, 39 Your sister went to them and said, "May I show you someone who will nurse this child?" We returned you to your mother to make her rejoice and forget her grief. You slew a man and We saved you from trouble. We tried you through various trials. Then you stayed some years with the people of Midian (Shu'ayb and his family) and after that you came back to Egypt as was ordained. 40 I chose you for Myself. 41 “You and your brother, both go with My signs, and do not slacken in My remembrance.” 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 "But speak to him mildly; perchance he may take warning or fear (Allah)." 44 The two said:" Lord! We fear he may commit excesses against us, or transgress all bounds." 45 He said, “Do not fear – I am with you, All Hearing and All Seeing.” 46 So go to him and say: 'The two of us have indeed been sent by your Lord. So let the children of Israel come with us, and do not oppress them. We have come to you with a token from your Lord. Peace on him who follows the way of guidance. 47 for, behold, it has been revealed to us that [in the life to come] suffering shall befall all who give the lie to the truth and turn away [from it]!"' 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 It is God who has made the earth as a cradle for you with roads for you to travel. He has sent water from the sky to produce various pairs of plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
