And certainly Haroun had said to them before: O my people! you are only tried by it, and surely your Lord is the Beneficent Allah, therefore follow me and obey my order. 90 They said, "We shall continue worshipping the calf until Moses comes back." 91 But (Moses) said: "O Aaron, when you saw that they had gone astray, what hindered you 92 That thou followedst me not! Hast thou disobeyed my command? 93 'Son of my mother' he replied, 'Do not seize my beard nor my head. I was afraid that you might say: "You have divided the Children of Israel and did not uphold my word." 94 Moses said, 'And thou, Samaritan, what was thy business?' 95 He answered: "I saw what the people did not see. So I took a handful of dust from the trail of the Messenger, and I flung it (into the fire). Thus did my mind prompt me." 96 [Moses] said, "Then go. And indeed, it is [decreed] for you in [this] life to say, 'No contact.' And indeed, you have an appointment [in the Hereafter] you will not fail to keep. And look at your 'god' to which you remained devoted. We will surely burn it and blow it into the sea with a blast. 97 But the god of you all is the One Allah: there is no god but He: all things He comprehends in His knowledge. 98 This is how We relate the former tidings to you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him); and We have given you a Remembrance* from Ourselves. (*The Holy Qur’an.) 99 Whoever turns away from it - then indeed, he will bear on the Day of Resurrection a burden, 100 Abiding under it - an evil burden for them on the Day of Resurrection, 101 The day when the Trumpet is blown. On that day we assemble the guilty white-eyed (with terror), 102 Mutterin among themselves: ye tarried not save ten days. 103 We know well what they will utter, whereas the wisest among them will say, “You have stayed just for a day.” 104
