Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? 30 We placed stabilisers in the earth so that as it revolved with them you lived undisturbed; and We provided passageways between them so that men may find their way; 31 We have made the heaven a well-secured canopy; yet still they turn away from Our signs. 32 It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each floating in an orbit. 33 We appointed immortality for no mortal before thee. What! if thou diest, can they be immortal! 34 Every soul shall have a taste of death: and We test you by evil and by good by way of trial. to Us must ye return. 35 When the unbelievers see you, they take you only for mockery, saying: 'Is this he who talks about your gods' While they are unbelievers in the Remembrance of the Merciful. 36 Man is made of inordinate haste. We will show you Our signs, then you will not desire to hasten (the punishment). 37 They ask, "When will this promise be fulfilled, if what you say be true?" 38 If the unbelievers only knew when they will be unable to shield either their faces or their backs from the Fire; when they will not be helped! 39 That will suddenly come upon them and stupefy them. They shall not be able to ward it off, nor shall they be granted any respite. 40 And assuredly mocked were the apostles before thee, then there surrounded those of them who scoffed that whereat they had been mocking! 41
