Do not those who deny the truth see that the heavens and the earth were joined together and that We then split them asunder? And that We have made every living thing out of water? Will they still not believe? 30 And We have placed mountains as anchors in the earth so that it may not shake with them; and We kept wide roads in it, so that they may find guidance. 31 and We made the sky a secure canopy; and yet they turn away from these Signs. 32 It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each floating in an orbit. 33 And We appointed not for any human being before thee immortality; if thou then diest, are they to be immortals? 34 Every living being must taste death; and We test you with harm and with good – a trial; and to Us only you have to return. 35 And when those who disbelieve see you, they do not take you but for one to be scoffed at: Is this he who speaks of your gods? And they are deniers at the mention of the Beneficent Allah. 36 Man is a creature of haste; [but in time] I shall make obvious to you [the truth of] My messages: do not, then, ask Me to hasten [it]! 37 But they [who reject My messages are wont to] ask, "When is that promise [of God's judgment] to be fulfilled? [Answer this, O you who believe in it,] if you are men of truth!" 38 If only the unbelievers could apprehend the moment when they would neither be able to ward off the fire from their faces and their backs, nor help reach them! 39 Indeed, it will come upon them suddenly and confound them; and they will not be able to ward it off, nor shall they be reprieved. 40 Mocked were (many) messenger before thee; But their scoffers were hemmed in by the thing that they mocked. 41
