3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 Peace be with Noah among all men in the worlds. 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 It is falsehood that you desire gods other than Allah! 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 And he said, "I am indeed sick (at heart)!" 89 So they turned away from him, and departed (for fear of the disease). 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he started striking them down with his right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They exclaimed: "Build a pyre for him, and cast him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 (And he prayed:) "O Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 thou hast already fulfilled [the purpose of] that dream-vision!" Thus, verily, do We reward the doers of good: 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 We had blessed him and Isaac. Some of their offspring were righteous and others were openly unjust to themselves. 113
