Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 for the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 That is the Day of Judgment. We will bring you together with all the ancient peoples. 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
