The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 They who are during their prayer humbly submissive 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 And who guard their modesty - 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 So whoever desires more than these two – they are crossing the limits. 7 and who are faithful to their trusts and to their pledges, 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 These are indeed the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators. 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
