The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 who are humble in their prayers; 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 who strictly guard their private parts 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 They are the inheritors. 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 We then turned the drop of fluid into a clot of blood, then the clot into a small lump of flesh, then the lump into bones, then covered the bones with flesh; then developed it in a different mould; therefore Most Auspicious is Allah, the Best Creator. 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 And by means of this [water] We bring forth for you gardens of date-palms and vines, wherein you have fruit abundant and whereof you eat, 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
