The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 those who, in their Prayers, humble themselves; 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 those who pay the zakat; 4 who guard their privates, 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 As for those who seek beyond that, they are transgressors" 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And those who of their prayers are observant. 9 Such are the inheritors 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 And assuredly We created man of an extract of clay. 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 And We send down water from the skies in accordance with a measure [set by Us,] and then We cause it to lodge in the earth: but, behold, We are most certainly able to withdraw this [blessing]! 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 You have a lesson in livestock. We provide you with drink from what is in their bellies, and you have many other benefits from them; some of them you eat, 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
