The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 who turn away from idle talk; 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 Who guard their sex 5 save from their wives, or those whom their right hands possess; for with regard to them they are free from blame " 6 But those who covet more than this will be transgressors; 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
