And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and on whom We had bestowed the good things of this life, said: "He is no more than a man like yourselves: he eats of that of which ye eat, and drinks of what ye drink. 33 And were ye to obey a human being like you, ye are forthwith to be losers. 34 Does he promise you that when you die and have become dust and bones, that you will be brought forth again? 35 ۞ Far-fetched, far-fetched indeed is what you are promised! 36 There is naught but our life in this world; we die and we live and we shall not be raised again. 37 He is naught but a man who has forged against God a lie, and we will not believe him.' 38 He said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me." 39 He said, 'In a little they will be remorseful.' 40 Then a mighty blast quite justly overtook them, and We reduced them to a rubble. So away with the wrong-doing folk! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 No community can anticipate their term, nor can they lay behind. 43 We sent Our messengers one after the other but whenever a Messenger would come to a nation, its people would call him a liar and We would destroy one nation after the other, thus, only their stories were left behind them. God keeps the unbelievers far away from His Mercy. 44 AND THEN We sent forth Moses and his brother Aaron with Our messages and a manifest authority [from Us] 45 Unto Fir'awn and his chiefs, but they grew stiff-necked, and they were a people self-exalting. 46 They said, "Should we believe in two mere mortals who are like ourselves and whose people are our slaves?" 47 Then they accused them of lies, and joined the company of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book that people might be guided by it. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. 50
