Messengers! Partake of the things that are clean, and act righteously. I know well all that you do. 51 Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so fear Me.' 52 But the people divided their religion among them into sects - each faction, in what it has, rejoicing. 53 Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till 54 Think they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We provide them 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Lo! those who go in awe for fear of their Lord. 57 Those who believe in the Signs of their Lord; 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 and those who give what they give, their hearts quaking that they are returning to their Lord -- 60 to God, these are the ones who really compete with each other in virtuous deeds and are the foremost ones in the task. 61 And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are heedless of this. Moreover, there are other deeds besides this which they do. 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 Implore not today; verily ye from Us are not to be succoured. 65 My Signs were rehearsed to you and you turned back on your heels and took to flight, 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Why did they not think over the message? Or has something come to them which had not come to their fathers? 68 Or is it, perchance, that they have not recognized their Apostle, and so they disavow him? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 And had the Truth followed their desires, then indeed the heavens and the earth and all those who are in them would be destroyed; in fact We brought to them a thing in which lay their repute, so they are turned away from their own repute. 71 Do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them? So the reward of your Lord is the best; and He is the Best Provider of Sustenance. 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 but, behold, those who will not believe in the life to come are bound to deviate from that way. 74 ۞ And though We have mercy on them We may remove whatsoever of hurt is with them, surely they would persist in their exorbitance, wandering perplexed. 75 And indeed, We tested them through suffering, but they did not abase themselves before their Sustainer; and they will never humble themselves 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. 77
