۞ And those who do not expect to meet Us said, “Why were the angels not sent down to us or we been able to see our Lord?” Indeed they thought too highly of themselves and they turned extremely rebellious. 21 There will be no good tidings for the guilty on the day they see the angels; and they will cry out, "Keep away, keep away!" 22 We shall advance upon what work they have done, and make it a scattered dust. 23 And for the People of the Garden on that day is a better destination and account, and a better place of afternoon rest. 24 And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent. 25 The kingdom on that day shall rightly belong to the Beneficent Allah, and a hard day shall it be for the unbelievers. 26 On the Day when the wrong-doer shall gnaw his hands saying: would that I had taken with the apostle a way! 27 "Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend! 28 He indeed led me astray from the Remembrance, after it had come to me; Satan is ever a forsaker of men.' 29 The Messengers will say, "Lord, my people had abandoned this Quran." 30 For so it is that against every prophet We have set up enemies from among those who are lost in sin: yet none can guide and give succour as thy Sustainer does! 31 The unbelievers say: "Why was the whole Qur'an not sent down all at once to him?" It was sent thus that We may keep your heart resolute. So We enunciated it by steps and distinctly. 32 And they do not come to you with an argument except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation. 33 They who shall be gathered prone on their faces unto Hell - those shall be worst in respect of place and the most astray in respect of path. 34
