The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Seen-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever he reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth! 2 It may be that you will destroy yourself with grief because they will not believe. 3 We could send down from the heavens a sign to them if We pleased, before which their heads would remain bowed. 4 Whenever there comes to them any fresh warning from the Merciful, they always turn their backs on it: 5 So they have indeed rejected (the truth), therefore the news of that which they mock shall soon come to them. 6 Do they not see the earth, and what beneficial kinds of things We have caused to grow in it? 7 Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers. 8 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 9
