When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 the nation of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Me' 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 and then my breast will be straitened and my tongue will not be free: send, then, [this Thy command] to Aaron. 13 besides, they accuse me of a crime, and I fear that they may put me to death." 14 He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 [Pharaoh] said, "Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life? 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 Moses replied: "I committed that act erringly. 20 and I fled from you because I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me one of the messengers. 21 “And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?” 22 Pharaoh said: 'And what is the Lord of the Worlds' 23 Said Moosa, “Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; if you believe.” 24 (Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not? 25 Said Moosa, “Your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers preceding you.” 26 (Pharaoh) said: "Truly your messenger who has been sent to you is a veritable madman!" 27 He said, “The Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them; if you have sense.” 28 [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 (Pharaoh) said: Produce it then, if thou art of the truthful! 31 Then he cast down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent manifest. 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
