And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 “The nation of Firaun; will they not fear?” 11 He said: O my Lord! surely I fear that they will reject me; 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 “And they have an accusation against me, so I fear that they may kill me.” 14 He said: 'Never so, go both of you with Our signs; We shall be with you, listening 15 “Therefore approach Firaun then proclaim, ‘We both are Noble Messengers of the Lord Of The Creation.’ 16 That you should send the children of Israel with us.' 17 The Pharaoh said, "Did we not bring you up in our home as an infant and did you not live with us for many years 18 Yet you committed the deed you did, surely you are one of the ingrates." 19 He (Moses) replied: 'Indeed, I did that when I was among those who stray. 20 "So I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord has granted me Hukman (i.e. religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood), and appointed me as one of the Messengers. 21 “And is this some great reward for which you express favour upon me – that you have enslaved the Descendants of Israel?” 22 Said Firaun, “And what is the Lord Of The Creation? 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 He said, 'Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients' 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 [But Moses] went on: "[He of whom I speak is] the Sustainer of the east and the west and of all that is between the two - as you would know]" if you would but use your reason!" 28 Fir'awn said: if thou wilt take a god other than me, I shall surely place thee among the prisoners. 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 Fir'awn said: forth with it then, if thou art of the truth-tellers. 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
