۞ AND [there came a time when] We inspired Moses thus: "Go forth with My servants by night: for, behold, you will be pursued!" 52 Then Fir'awn sent unto the cities callers: 53 "These," they said, "are only a small band, 54 And verily they have enraged us. 55 And indeed, we are a cautious society... " 56 Thus did We take them away from gardens and watersprings, 57 and [deprived them of their erstwhile] station of honour!" 58 Thus (were those things taken from them) and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit them. 59 At sunrise they set off in pursuit of them 60 And when the two hosts came in view of each other, Moses' companions said: 'We have been reached' 61 'No, indeed' he replied, 'my Lord is with me and He will guide me' 62 Then We revealed to Moses, (commanding him): "Strike the sea with your rod." Thereupon the sea split up, and then each became like the mass of a huge mount. 63 Then brought We near the others to that place. 64 and We saved Moses and those who were with him together, 65 And We drowned the others. 66 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 67 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 68
