And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 “You and your forefathers preceding you.” 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 Do not betray me 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil). 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 So they shall be thrown down into it, they and the erring ones, 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 And they will say while they dispute with one another, 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 so now we have no intercessors, 100 “Nor a caring friend.” 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
