And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 Or, benefit they you or hurt they you? 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 Who gives me food and drink, 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 who makes me to die, then gives me life, 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 And ordain for me a goodly mention among posterity 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 And disgrace me not on the day when they are raised 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 92 Beside Allah? Can they succour you or succour themselves? 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 'By God, we were certainly in manifest error 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none has brought us into error except the Mujrimun [Iblis (Satan) and those of human beings who commit crimes, murderers, polytheists, oppressors, etc.]. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 And indeed your Lord only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
