The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 and raised the mountains like supporting poles? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And We made your sleep to be rest (to you), 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong ones, 12 And have kept a very bright lamp in it. 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The Day that the Trumpet shall be sounded, and ye shall come forth in crowds; 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Certainly Hell lies in wait, 21 A home for the rebellious. 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 , A fitting reward. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
