And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” 70 They said, 'We serve idols, and continue cleaving to them. 71 He asked them, "Can the idols hear you when you pray to them 72 Or do they benefit you, or do you harm?" 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 Abraham said, "Have you really thought about what you have been worshipping, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. 78 It is He who gives me food and drink 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;- 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 except for him who comes to God with a pure heart. 89 And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous. 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 And there and then, blaming one another, they [who had grievously sinned in life] will exclaim: 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 "'When we held you as equals with the Lord of the Worlds; 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 nor a loving friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
