The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 Those who humble themselves in their prayers; 2 And those who from everything vain turn away. 3 and at almsgiving are active 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 and who preserve their trusts and their covenant 8 and who guard their Prayers. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally. 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 and be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
