Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?" 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 He said: Have you then considered what you have been worshipping: 75 You and your ancient sires. 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 And when I am sick, then He restores me to health 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 Who, I hope, will forgive me my sins on the Day of Judgement." 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 "Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 Forgive me and my father: He was surely among those who went astray. 86 And disgrace me not on the day when they are raised 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 92 other than Allah? Do they help you or even help themselves' 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 when we deemed you [false deities] equal to the Sustainer of all the worlds 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 nor a loving friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104
