(The tribe of) A’ad denied the Noble Messengers. 123 when their brother Hud said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 124 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 125 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 "Do you build useless monuments on every mountain 128 and do you take to you castles, haply to dwell forever? 129 When you lay hands upon anyone, you do so as tyrants. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 Have fear of the One who has bestowed upon you all that you know. 132 succoured you with flocks and sons, 133 And gardens and fountains; 134 Surely I fear for you the chastisement of a grievous day 135 They said: It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers 136 "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients, 137 "And we are not the ones to receive Pains and Penalties!" 138 Then they accused him of lies; so We annihilated them. Verily there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 140
