The people of 'Ad accused the messengers of lies. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 124 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 125 Have fear of God and obey me. 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 What, you build a monument on every hill merely for fun 128 "And do you get for yourselves palaces (fine buildings) as if you will live therein for ever. 129 When you lay hands upon anyone, you do so as tyrants. 130 "Now fear Allah, and obey me. 131 And fear He who provided you with that which you know, 132 He has bestowed on you cattle, and sons, 133 And orchards and springs. 134 Verily I fear for you the torment of a Mighty Day. 135 They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. 136 This is but a custom of the ancients. 137 and we shall never be punished' 138 So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 140
