The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 Their brother Hud asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 124 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 "Will you, in your wanton folly, build [idolatrous] altars on every height, 128 and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever? 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 So guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me 131 and [thus] be conscious of Him who has [so] amply provided you with all [the good] that you might think of 132 "Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,- 133 And gardens and fountains; 134 I fear for you the chastisement of an Awesome Day." 135 They said, "Whether you preach to us or not, 136 this is nothing but a habit of the ancients: 137 and we shall not be chastised.' 138 And they belied him; so We destroyed them. Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Verily your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 140
