(The nation of) Aad belied their Messengers. 123 When their fellowman Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?” 124 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 125 So fear God and listen to me. 126 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 127 You construct monuments on every hill in vain, 128 "And do ye get for yourselves fine buildings in the hope of living therein (for ever)? 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 "Yea, fear Him Who has bestowed on you freely all that ye know. 132 “He aided you with cattle and sons.” 133 and gardens, and springs: 134 I fear the punishment of a terrible day for you. 135 They replied: 'It is the same to us whether you admonish or whether you are not one of the admonishers. 136 That is nothing but a habit of the ancients, 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 So they cried him lies; then We destroyed them. Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 140
