Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
Verily We bestowed Our favours on Moses and Aaron 114 and We saved them with their nation from a great distress. 115 And We helped them, so that they were the victors; 116 and We gave them the Clear Book, 117 And guided them to the Straight Path. 118 and perpetuated their praise in later generations. 119 Peace be with Moses and Aaron. 120 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 121 Surely they were both of Our believing servants. 122 And verily, Iliyas (Elias) was one of the Messengers. 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not fear Allah? 124 Do you call upon Ba'l and leave the best of creators - 125 who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" 126 but they rejected him, and thus will certainly be called to account; 127 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 128 And We left for him among the posterity: 129 "Peace be on Elijah and his people!" 130 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 131 For he was one of our believing Servants. 132 And verily, Lout (Lot) was one of the Messengers. 133 We saved him and all his kinsmen, 134 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 And indeed, you pass by them in the morning 137 and at night. Will you then not understand? 138
