Alshu'araa' 7 of 11

The people of 'Ad accused the messengers of lies. 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 125 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 126 And I ask of you no hire therefor: my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 127 Do you build on every height a monument? Vain is it that you do: 128 and raise strong mansions as if you were to live forever? 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 So fear God, and obey me; 131 fear Him who has aided you with all that you know -- 132 He hath aided you with cattle and sons. 133 And gardens and springs. 134 “Indeed I fear upon you the punishment of a Great Day.” 135 They replied, "It makes no difference to us whether you preach or do not preach, 136 this is nothing but the habit of the ancients, 137 And we are not going to be punished. 138 In this there is evidence (of the Truth), yet most of them do not have any faith. 139 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 140
