Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 Lo! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
