Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 so fear God and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
