Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

May both the hands of Abu Lahab be destroyed – and they are destroyed! 1 His wealth will not suffice him, neither what he has gained; 2 He shall soon burn in fire that flames, 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 A rope made from palm fibre around her neck! 5

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
