In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Has there come on man a while of time when he was a thing unremembered? 1 Verily We! We created man from a sperm of mixtures, that We might prove him, wherefore We made him hearing, seeing. 2 Verily We! We shewed him the way; then he becometh either thankful or ingrate. 3 For the unbelievers, We have kept ready chains and fetters and a Blazing Fire. 4 Lo! the righteous shall drink of a cup whereof the mixture is of Kafur, 5 which flows from a spring from which the servants of God will drink. 6 They (are those who) fulfill (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil will be wide-spreading. 7 And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him, 8 "We only feed you for the sake of God and we do not want any reward or thanks from you. 9 Lo! we fear from our Lord a day of frowning and of fate. 10 So God has guarded them from the evil of that day, and has procured them radiancy and gladness, 11 And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient. 12 Reclining in the (Garden) on raised thrones, they will see there neither the sun's (excessive heat) nor (the moon's) excessive cold. 13 And near above them are its shades, and its [fruit] to be picked will be lowered in compliance. 14 Passed round will be silver flagons and goblets made of glass, 15 and gleaming silver goblets which have been filled to the exact measure, 16 And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- 17 drawn from a spring (in Paradise) called Salsabil. 18 ۞ They will be served by immortal youths who look like scattered pearls. 19 And when you look there (in Paradise), you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a great dominion. 20 Upon those [blest] will be garments of green silk and brocade; and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. And their Sustainer will them to drink of a drink most pure. 21 'See, this is your recompense, your striving is thanked' 22
