The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
