The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And rained on them a shower of Stones. How terrible was the rain that fell on those who had been warned! 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
