Lot's nation, belied their Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
