The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger. 162 "So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
