The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
