The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 And weigh with a balance straight. 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 And fear Him who created you and all the earlier people." 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 But in case you are speaking the truth, then make a segment of the sky to fall upon us." 187 He said, "My Lord has full knowledge of all your actions." 188 They rejected him, and then had to suffer the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom. That was indeed the punishment of an awful day. 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
