This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 (Muhammad), do not worship anything besides God lest you suffer the punishment. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 And lower thy wing to the Believers who follow thee. 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 And (seeth) thine abasement among those who fall prostrate (in worship). 219 He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. 220 O people, shall I tell you on whom it is that satans descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
