This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this [message] to pass [unheeded] through the hearts of those who are lost in sin: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe, and do good works and remember Allah in abundance and became victorious after they had been wronged. The wrongdoers will surely know which turn they will be returning to (Hell). 227
