And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they wish to hasten Our punishment? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 then there comes on them that they were promised, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 Then if they disobey you say to them: "I am quit of what you do." 216 Have trust in the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 and [sees] thy behaviour among those who prostrate themselves [before Him]: 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I declare unto you upon whom the satans descend! 221 They come to every sinful liar. 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
