The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
