The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great event, 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And have appointed the night as a cloak, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We built above you seven strong ones, 12 and We appointed a blazing lamp 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetables, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 A day when the trumpet is blown and ye come in multitudes, 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and the mountains are set in motion, and become a vapour. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
